This is a Dutch fishermen's sweater for the same (half-Dutch, and now much bigger) niece. There's a great book about Dutch fishermen's sweaters that I got from the Norsk Fjord Fiber catalogue a long time ago, the name of which is: Knitting from the Netherlands: Traditional Dutch Fishermen's Sweaters, by Henriette van der Klift-Tellegen. I chose a pattern from a village closest to one our ancestors came from, and switched the traditional black or dark blue wool to mint green chenille.
